LEDANG: Three schoolboys had their belongings confiscated but instead of waiting for their handphones and other items to be returned, they broke into their school to retrieve them.

The schoolboys, aged between 12 and 16, used a hammer, parang and other tools to break the door of the school office where their belongings had been stored.

Ledang OCPD Supt Harun Idris said the students were rounded up after a school in Tangkak lodged a report at 9.10am on Thursday.

He said police also detained an 11-year-old primary school pupil, who followed the older boys to break into the school on Wednesday night.

“When we received a report of the break-in from the school, we sent a team and managed to identify the boys who broke into the school,” he told reporters yesterday.

“Investigations later showed the school teachers had seized their handphones, a bracelet, a necklace and a movie DVD with the title Jiwa Kacau.”

Police found the items with the students.

Supt Harun said all four boys have been questioned and released under police bail before they are brought to juvenile court to face charges.

In another case, police detained a couple and seized some RM12,000 worth of drugs last month.

He said the drugs were heroin, syabu and ecstasy with the total weight of more than 86g, adding that the suspects were charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He added that the man, aged 36, and the woman, 29, were detained at a house along Jalan Naib Long near the Tangkak town on April 9 and were believed to be small-time drug pushers.
