GE13: Chinese businessmen pledge their support to Najib

PETALING JAYA: The Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (Acccim) has extended Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his administration its full support in the development of investment and other economic activities in the country.

In a joint statement yesterday, its life honorary president Tan Sri William Cheng and president Datuk Lim Kok Cheong congratulated Najib on his appointment as Prime Minister.

“We fully support national reconciliation as his main agenda, and hope his government will continue to develop the national economy in the next five years,” they said.

The association also called on all parties to respect the election results and not instigate negative sentiments that could jeopardise national harmony.

Acccim congratulated the mentris besar and chief ministers of all the states, and hoped that the state governments would prioritise the people's needs.

“They should work with the Federal Government in providing the best service to the rakyat.

“We also hope the Federal Government will lead the country justly so that we can achieve a balanced development in all states,” said the statement.
