Guan Eng: Appointment of Selangor MB should be settled quickly
By REGINA LEE
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. KUALA LUMPUR: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was concerned with the imbroglio of the appointment of the Selangor Mentri Besar and said it should be settled quickly.
"With every moment of delay, it is not good for Pakatan as well as for the people of Selangor.
"The other two (Pakatan-held) states have already sworn in their state chiefs and exco lineup, and I thought that Selangor would've been the fastest," he said in a press conference on Saturday.
While maintaining the party's endorsement for incumbent Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, he was insistent that DAP would not be a part of "PKR's internal problems".
"Internal problems are common in political parties, but this should not spill over to the administration of the state when there is already an MB-designate," said Lim adding that it also appeared that Khalid had the endorsement of the PAS and PKR leadership.
PKR deputy president Azmin Ali had yesterday hit out at his party president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for allegedly failing to consult with the state party leaders before informing the palace the party's choice candidate for the MB post.
