Mohamad, 57, who is also Negri Sembilan Umno chief, was reappointed to the post after leading the BN in winning 22 out of 36 state seats in the 13th general election.
He was first appointed as the mentri besar on March 25, 2004 and reappointed for the second term after the 2008 polls.
In his speech, Tuanku Muhriz reminded the newly elected and reelected representatives of the mandates given to them by the people and the responsibilities entrusted to them to protect the interests of the people, regardless of race, religious and political beliefs.
"Don't ever try to betray the people by using the mandates to achieve personal agenda. Abusing the power and the position will only lead to injustice and failure in the implementation of policies," he said.
Meanwhile, Mohamad in his loyalty pledge, said although the responsibilities entrusted to him were heavy, he promised to fulfill them to the best of his ability for the race, religion and nation.
He said unity and cooperation from all quarters were the most important factor in driving the state in line with the country's development as underlined in the ongoing 10th Malaysia Plan.
"Therefore, it is only right that the cooperation from all quarters be at the best level possible," he said. - Bernama
