PETALING JAYA: Star Radio Group's 'Kamilah Malaysia' campaign officially kicks off at 6am Monday with radio deejays inspiring listeners to celebrate the country's unity and diversity.

Deejays of Red FM, 98.8 FM, Suria FM and Capital FM will be 'criss-crossing' live over the four stations with a host of activities, starting at 6am.

"You will hear Halim from Suria on 988, Xandria from Capital on RED and Adibah Noor from SURIA on Capital," Star Radio Group programme director Allan Cameron said.

"Our theme is of four stations with one message - Unity," he said.

He said the deejays would also be reading inspirational quotes on air but one of the highlights of the campaign is the airing of the group's song Mulanya Di Sini after 7am.

Cameron explained that each station would be playing the campaign's theme song, which is sung in different languages by announcers from all four stations.

"We will not have any guests coming in on the first day as the day is aimed at getting the message of unity out there," he said.

Cameron pointed that the most important aspect is the participation of the listeners.

"We encourage listeners to deliver their 'Message to Malaysia' at any time on all the stations.

"For example, on Suria FM, the breakfast show will revolve around assimilation into each other's culture, listeners can tweet their thoughts to #kamilahmalaysia while on 988, the morning up show will be focusing on the uniqueness of being Malaysian," he said.

He explained that deejays from Red FM would also encourage listeners to tweet, call or SMS their message to Malaysia in any language.

"Capital FM will focus on cultural diversity and the different views of the younger and older Malaysians," he said.

The campaign is aimed at starting something far more positive instead of "remembering" the black mark in the country's history associated with May 13.
