Khalid has audience with Selangor Sultan, expected to be sworn in as Mentri Besar Tuesday
Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim leaving Istana Alam Shah in Klang after meeting the Sultan of Selangor. SHAH ALAM: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will take his oath of office as Selangor Menteri Besar for the second term before the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Alam Shah, Klang on Tuesday.
This was confirmed by an officer at the Selangor Mentri Besar's office press secretariat Monday.
This puts an end to speculation over the past week on who would be appointed to the post.
Earlier, at 9.40am, Khalid arrived at Istana Bukit Kayangan here, followed by an executive councillor's car for his audience with the Sultan.
After an audience with the Selangor Sultan at Istana Bukit Kayangan here, Khalid said the line-up of the state executive council members would be finalised in two weeks.
Khalid was sworn in as the 13th Selangor Mentri Besar, on March 13, 2008 after the 12th general election, becoming the first leader from the Opposition to be appointed to the post.
In the recent elections, Pakatan Rakyat won 44 out of 56 state seats in Selangor, 14 though PKR and 15 each through PAS and DAP.
The party won 36 seats in the 2008 general election.
