Sng retires for good from politics after more than 20 years

KUCHING: SWP adviser Datuk Sng Chee Hua has announced his retirement from politics for good.

In a statement yesterday, he said he had served the people for more than 20 years and felt that it was time to retire and give way to younger people to continue the party’s struggles.

“I have faith in our young leaders in SWP. Let them plan and decide what is best for the people’s future,” he said.

Sng, a seasoned politician, contested in Selangau in the just concluded election against Barisan’s Datuk Joseph Entulu Be-luan and PKR’s Joshua Jabing. Entulu won with a majority of 7,555 in the three-way fight.

Sng launched SWP following his son, Larry’s expulsion from PRS for insubordination in 2008.
