Frustrated over long wait for information

I POSTED a question on the Wisma Putra website on March 11, asking if there is a Malaysian Embassy in Iceland or any country nearest to it.

I waited patiently for an answer to this very simple question and after a while I followed up with a phone call, which was to no avail.

Frustrated, I sent a complaint to the Public Complaints Bureau on April 5 and immediately got a call from them asking me for further details. And this was followed by a letter dated April 9, both via e-mail and Pos Malaysia.

Also enclosed was a copy of the letter from the bureau to Wisma Putra, requesting the latter to reply and answer my question within five working days, before or on April 16.

But there was no reply from Wisma Putra until a day after I got back from Iceland! The e-mail dated April 22 gave me the address and contact number of the Malaysian mission in Stockholm.

There was no explanation whatsoever for the long delay in replying. And, mind you, the reply was from the webmaster, and not any official.

This is very strange, to say the least. I replied to this e-mail immediately to express my disappointment with their tardiness, only to be informed of a delivery problem because the recipient’s mailbox was full.
