SEVENTY-FIVE SMK St Michael Ipoh students received much-needed financial aid thanks to a RM15,000 donation from the SMI Alumni Association of Klang Valley.

The money was donated in bursaries to the students, who were identified by their teachers as in need of financial assistance to buy books, uniforms and other learning accessories.

Each student will receive RM200, which will be distributed in RM50 monthly instalments over four months.

A mock cheque for the amount was presented from association president Michael Lip to school principal Loh Wei Seng on April 12.

Meanwhile, association secretary Francis Chong and committee member Helen Lip presented the subsidy letters to the students on behalf of Michaelians Give Back Fund chairman Leong Siew Seng who was not present.

The association also presented a RM5,000 donation to the Michaelian Military Band on behalf of former band member Chan Kam Seng.
