Cops nab four drug suspects


KUANTAN: Police have arrested four suspected drug traffickers, including a woman.

In the first case, a man was arrested in Bukit Setongkol here at about 12.30am on Friday, said state narcotics CID chief Supt Yap Toon Khuan.

“He was found with 0.3g of cannabis, 0.5g of syabu and 15.4g of heroin. We obtained leads from the suspect and arrested two other men at about 1.30am in the same area,” he said during a press conference at the Pahang police contingent headquarters here yesterday.

Supt Yap added that police found 124g of heroin on the two suspects.

In the second raid at the Semambu industrial area at about 3pm on Saturday, police arrested a woman with a substance weighing 60g, believed to be heroin.

“All of the drugs are believed to have been brought in from Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

The cases are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries the death penalty.
