GE13: RMAF man transferred after report over indelible ink
KEPALA BATAS: A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) commanding officer has been transferred, just two days after lodging a police report over the weaknesses of the indelible ink.
Mej Zaidi Ahmad, 45, from the Butterworth RMAF base, has been instructed to report to a camp in Kuala Lumpur.
He had lodged a report on Wednesday, along with his wife Shafinah Abdul Hamid, 47, and RMAF technician Jamal Ibrahim, 41, all claiming that the indelible ink marked on their finger had washed off easily.
Mej Zaidi said he received a letter yesterday informing him of the transfer which took immediate effect. However, he pleaded to postpone the transfer to Monday, which has been approved.
“I will only be there temporarily, but I don't know for how long. No reason was given for the transfer,” he told the press yesterday evening.
The 24-year RMAF veteran, who was calm, said it was stated in the letter that he would be given a new position as a research officer.
Asked how he felt, Mej Zaidi said that as an armed personnel, he would follow instructions.
