GE13: Mukhriz is Najib’s choice for MB
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir will be appointed Kedah Mentri Besar if Barisan Nasional is given the mandate to form the state government, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Najib, who is Barisan chairman, said Mukhriz had the capability to administer Kedah in line with the Government's aspiration to make a success of its national transformation plans.
Mukhriz is the Barisan candidate for the Ayer Hitam state seat.
“I am confident he will provide dynamic leadership to take Kedah to new heights,” he said in a statement here.
Mukhriz, who is Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister and Kedah Barisan deputy chairman, is facing the incumbent Abdul Ghani Ahmad of PAS. - Bernama
