GE13: Police reports lodged on indelible ink to be investigated after the election, says EC chairman

PUTRAJAYA: The eight police reports by voters who claimed that the indelible ink applied to their fingers could be washed off easily will be investigated after the general election.

Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusof said they would wait from the reports which would be forwarded by the Selangor police.

He said the ink could have been easiy washed off as it was thinly applied.

"I think it is not the ink that would not last as expected but the process...the way it was applied on the fingers.

"Nevertheless, we will investigate the reports," he said.

His deputy Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the ink should have been applied in several layers to ensure it effectiveness.

"I had my finger applied with two layers of the ink and I could not get it washed no matter how I tried.

"We have some 25,000 workers and may be some of them did not understand the instruction on proper way to apply the ink," he said.
