GE13: BN holding slim lead in Negri

SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional is expected to retain Negri Sembilan with a slim majority although MCA and Gerakan lost all the seats they contested this time around.

As at press time, Barisan registered victories in 19 state seats while Pakatan Rakyat won 14.

Preliminary results also showed that Umno won all its seats while MIC contributed one to Barisan.

There are 36 state and eight parliamentary seats in Negri Sembilan.

In the 2008 polls, Barisan won 21 state seats and five parliamentary seats.

This time, Barisan won in Pertang, Sg Lui, Klawang, Lenggeng, Ampangan, Juasseh, Seri Menanti, Senaling, Johol, Pilah, Kota, Chembong, Rantau, Bagan Pinang, Gemas, Palong, Serting, Jeram Padang and Labu.

The Opposition won in Chennah, Bahau, Nilai, Lobak, Temiang, Sikamat, Bukit Kepayang, Rahang, Mambau, Senawang, Chuah, Lukut, Port Dickson and Repah.

Barisan won the Tampin, Kuala Pilah, Jelebu, Jempol and Rembau parliamentary seats, but lost Seremban and Rasah.

The result for the Teluk Kemang parliamentary seat, presently held by PKR, is still pending.

DAP made a clean sweep of all the 11 state and two parliamentary seats it contested.

The additional state seat it won this time was Chennah, which was previously held by MCA.
