KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney-General's Chambers is raising a preliminary objection against the application by Australian Senator Nicholas Xenophon who is challenging the decision to deny him entry into Malaysia as a “security risk”.

Senior Federal Counsel Suzana Atan said the objection would be filed on grounds that Xenophon's application was frivolous.

Xenophon's counsel Ranjit Singh confirmed the details.

Deputy Registrar Diana Md Razali set May 29 for case management.

Xenophon is seeking leave for a judicial review to overturn the Feb 16 decision by the Immigration director-general to refuse him entry into Peninsular Malaysia.

He is seeking damages, costs and further relief deemed fit by the court.
