GE13: Perak Pakatan assemblymen stay away from MB’s swearing-in ceremony
IPOH: All 28 Pakatan Rakyat state assemblymen were not at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar to witness Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir being sworn in as Perak Menteri Besar, Tuesday.
Perak deputy PAS Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said they (Pakatan) did not attend the oath-taking and swearing-in ceremony because they were not satisfied with the Election Commission (EC) and the results of the 13th general election.
"We did not attend because we feel the election results were not legitimate and there is suspicion of widespread fraud," he said.
Meanwhile, Zambry said all 28 state assemblymen from Pakatan Rakyat were invited to the ceremony.
"For me, the elections are over and it is time to continue the agenda of leading the state and its administration that involves all elected representatives.
"I do not want to comment on their absence at the palace today," he said.
Barisan clinched 31 state seats compared to Pakatan's 28 seats during the elections to remain in power. - Bernama
