Earlier, PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar confirmed that Azizan had slipped into a coma and was being treated in the coronary care unit at the hospital.
Mohd Helmi said Azizan, 70, was transferred to the hospital from a private hospital here at about 4pm Monday after suffering virus infection in his leg.
