PETALING JAYA: Former MCA secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Ting Chew Peh said the party would lose its credibility if it were to call an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to overturn its earlier resolution not to accept any government posts if its performance in the general election is worse than the last round.

He also said disciplinary action could be taken against any member who went against the resolution which was made by the general assembly the party's highest decision-making body during an earlier EGM.

Dr Ting said those who were bent on taking up government positions could do so but must resign from the party first.
