Jagdeep, Ramasamy among 10 Penang exco members sworn in (Updated)

Jagdeep Singh Deo GEORGE TOWN: For the first time in Penang, two Indians were appointed to the state executive committee. Jagdeep Singh Deo, son of DAP chairman Karpal Singh, joins Dr P. Ramasamy in the new lineup.
PKR's newly-elected Mohd Rashid Hasnon was sworn in as the new Deputy Chief Minister I while Dr Ramasamy was retained as the Deputy Chief Minister II.
Jagdeep replaces former Penang state town and country planning and housing committee chairman Wong Hon Wai.
Padang Lalang assemblyman Chong Eng was appointed youth and sports, women, family and community development and arts committee chairman.
New Seberang Jaya assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin was given the agriculture and agro-based industry, rural development and health portfolio.
They were among 10 exco members comprising four new faces who were sworn in on Thursday before Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas and Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at Dewan Sri Pinang on Thursday.
