Police claim first major trophy in colourful ceremony
PETALING JAYA: Police lifted their first major silverware in a colourful ceremony at the Selayang Municipal Council stadium last night.
The newly-crowned Premier League champions celebrated their success by treating their 3,000 odd fans to a police marching band performance, comedy sketches and martial arts display.
Police, who had been the whipping boys of the M-League since 1989, last night held Sabah to a 1-1 draw in their penultimate match which was witnessed by their Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hasan.
Sabah's Bobby Gonzalez opened accounts in the 40th minute before Michael Barasa equalised for Police in the 65th minute.
