Record transfer fees for teenager
AMSTERDAM: Miralem Sulejmani will play at Ajax next season, transferring from Heerenveen for a Dutch league record US$25.47mil.
Ajax confirmed on Sunday they had acquired the Serbian teenager, who scored 15 goals in 34 matches for Heerenveen last season.
The club and former Holland national team coach Marco van Basten hope the acquisition will enable it to end the dominance of PSV Eindhoven, who have won the past four Dutch league titles. – AP
