Messi gives his shirt to US cager Bryant
ARGENTINE footballer Lionel Messi presented Kobe Bryant with his shirt on Wednesday, and called the US basketball superstar as “seriously great”.
“He came to watch the game, he waved at me from the stands ... a real master. Kobe showed that he is seriously great,” Messi said.
Bryant watched defending champions Argentina beat Serbia 2-0 at the Beijing Olympics. At half time, Messi, who did not play the match, gave the Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard his national team shirt, which Bryant received with a broad smile.
The two had already met on Monday at the Olympic Village, and on Tuesday Bryant, who spent several childhood years in Italy and played football there, described Messi as his favourite footballer and “a phenomenon”.
