PM offers to clean players’ shoes
LJUBLJANA: Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor has offered to clean the players’ shoes if the national team qualify for the World Cup Finals via next month’s play-offs.
“We have a second chance and we will use it ... and I will clean shoes,” Pahor said yesterday, the day after Slovenia beat San Marino 3-0 to finish second in Group Three behind Slovakia.
Slovenia, who qualified for Euro 2000 and the 2002 World Cup, beat Slovakia 2-0 away on Saturday but finished two points behind the group winners. — Reuters
