Mexican match to be in 3D

MEXICO CITY: The soccer match between top Mexican sides America and Guadalajara on Sunday will be screened in 3D, with broadcasters Televisa claiming on Wednesday it will be the first broadcast of its kind in the world.

“You’re going to witness something that will make history,“ Elias Rodriguez, general manager of Televisa operations, told a news conference.

“We’re talking about three dimensions ... we’re taking this new step forward in football,” said Javier Alarcon, editor of Televisa Deportes (Sport).

The Clausura championship match at the Azteca will be screened in cinemas in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. — Reuters
