United striker Rooney’s now a father
LIVERPOOL: Wayne Rooney became a father for the first time on Monday when his wife Coleen gave birth to a baby boy, a spokesman for the Manchester United and England forward announced.
The baby, born at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, has been named Kai Wayne Rooney.
His father missed training with his club to be at the birth.
Rooney, 24, married his childhood sweetheart Coleen, 23, on the Italian Riviera last year.
Coleen has worked as a model and a television presenter but said in an interview earlier this year that she would like to have “maybe three or four children”.
“I do enjoy my work but I’d be happy when we do have children to just get on with that,” she said. — AFP
