Fowler banned from driving
LONDON: Robbie Fowler, the former England and Liverpool striker now based in Australia, has been banned for driving for six months after being caught using his mobile phone while driving.
The 33-year-old initially denied the offence but his solicitor told South Sefton Magistrates’ Court on Friday that his client now admitted breaking the law while behind the wheel of his BMW X5 on Nov 14 last year.
The offence took the striker to 12 penalty points on his driving licence, which usually triggers a temporary ban.
Fowler, who has moved to Australia to play for A-League club North Queensland Fury, did not attend the court hearing. — AFP
