Celtic to play Dynamo Moscow in third round of Champs League
NYON: Former European champions Celtic will play Dynamo Moscow in the Champions League third qualifying round, UEFA announced here yesterday.
UEFA Cup winners Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine will clash with Romanian debutants FC Timisoara, while Anderlecht are up against newcomers Sivasspor from Turkey.
Sparta Prague and Panathinaikos come face to face and Portugal’s Sporting take on FC Twente of Holland.
The 15 ties drawn yesterday will be played on July 28-29 and Aug 4-5.
Winners advance to next month’s playoff round — which includes seeded teams Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, Lyon and Stuttgart — to decide which will reach the 32-team group phase of the world’s most lucrative club competition.
