Fairuz in top 10 of Renault standings
PETALING JAYA: Malaysian driver Fairuz Fauzy moved into the top 10 of the World Series by Renault championship standings after finishing fourth in Race 2 in the fifth round at Silverstone on Sunday.
Fairuz of Mofaz-Fortec Motorsports, who started seventh on the grid, completed the 28-lap race in 45:51.380.
France’s Charles Pic of Tech 1 Racing posted his first win of the season, finishing in 45:45.99.
Fairuz had chalked up a second podium finish of the season in second place in Race 1 on Saturday and is now sixth in the championship standings on 41 points. The leader is Marcos Martinez of Pons Racing on 73 points.
The next stop of the series is in Le Mans on July 18 and 19.
