Ahmad Fazli eyes second hat-trick in motorcycle race
PETALING JAYA: Ahmad Fazli Sham is aiming for a second hat-trick in Round 7 of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cup Prix Championship in Pekan this weekend.
The Shell Advance Yamaha Maju team rider created history in the Expert category last year when he became the first person to score a hat-trick of wins by taking the chequered flag in Kluang (Round 2), Kuala Terengganu (Round 3) and Kota Baru (Round 4).
Now, having won in Sepang (Round 5) and Batu Kawan (Round 6), the 27-year-old Fazli’s hoping for a repeat three-peat.
The two back-to-back wins have put Fazli back in the contention for the title with 81 points in third place – four behind second-placed Md Iskandar Raduan of Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Raceline.
Mohd Zamri Baba of Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Raceline leads the pack with 91 points.
