Butler: FAM have been very professional
KUALA TERENGGANU: Ousted Terengganu coach Peter Butler feels he has finally been vindicated.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) ruled yesterday that his suspension and possible termination by the Terengganu FA “is null and void”.
None was more jubilant to hear the decision than Butler himself, who said: “I am delighted ... my good name has been preserved and all my decisions vindicated.”
He explained that the Terengganu FA had made a mistake and “they’ll have to live with it”.
“I have been nothing but professional. I thanked the Mentri Besar for his support as well as all Terengganu supporters,” he said.
“The FAM have been very professional in this matter too.”
Butler said he preferred to settle the matter once and for all with the Terengganu FA.
“But the only way that’s going to happen is for them to pay me my salary for the remaining 15 months.
“It was never about money ... I’ve fought for my integrity and justice,” he said.
Butler said he’s going back to England for a short break with his reputation intact.
“I will go back to England on a 2am flight (Friday) but I’ll be back in Terengganu in November,” he said.
