German Rosner wins first squash title
PETALING JAYA: German squash star Simon Rosner beat Australia’s Cameron Pilley in the final of the Santiago Open in Spain on Saturday to claim his first PSA title of the year.
The wily Rosner was simply too strong for the hard-hitting Pilley, winning 8-11, 11-5, 11-8, 16-14 in 74 minutes.
The world No. 18 had a day earlier stunned home favourite Borja Golan in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, national No. 3 Ivan Yuen who only made the quarter-finals in Santiago will have a chance to make amends when he competes in the Valencia Open which begins today.
The 22-year-old Ivan however will face a tough first round challenge as he will be up against third seed Chris Ryder of England on Wednesday.
