Nakasuga to replace injured Spies in Spain
PHILLIP ISLAND, Australia - Japanese test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga will replace the injured Ben Spies for the final round of the MotoGP Championship in Valencia next month, Yamaha Factory Racing said on Sunday.
Nakasuga finished in sixth place while substituting for injured Yamaha Factory rider Jorge Lorenzo at last year's Valencia Grand Prix.
He was back again this year as a wildcard for the Japanese Grand Prix with the Yamaha YSP Racing Team, finishing ninth.
Spies is at home in the United States recovering from injuries sustained in the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend.
The Texan had surgery this week to repair torn ligament damage in the right shoulder and will need a recovery period of eight to ten weeks, the team said. - AFP
