Lucky Dragons hold on to subdue Fire Horse for second victory
KUALA LUMPUR: The Westports Malaysia Dragons rode their luck to beat Sarawak Fire Horse 72-71 despite throwing away a 27-point lead in the Malaysian National Basketall League (MNBL) at the Maba Stadium yesterday.
After narrowly beating Farmcochem – 82-79 – a day earlier, the Dragons appeared to be cruising after taking a 17-9 lead in the first quarter.

Defending champions Fire Horse woke up from their slumber as they a haul in the Dragons and took the lead at 71-68 with seconds remaining on the clock.
Then with just 3.1 seconds left on the clock, Sullivan fouled out and Dragons’ sharpshooter Patrick Cabahug coolly converted the pair of free throws to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
