Kim Her to meet doubles coaches to standardise training plans
KUALA LUMPUR: National doubles chief coach Tan Kim Her will chair a meeting with all the coaches on Monday to fine tune the planning and line-ups of the doubles department.
All the coaches, including the women’s doubles head Rosman Razak and mixed doubles chief Jeremy Gan, will also be present so that all their plans can be synchronised to be in line with the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) mission of forming solid teams for three Olympic Games cycles – 2016, 2020, 2024.
Kim Her said there will be minimal changes after the meeting on Monday.
“We want to be clear about the roles of each coach in the new structure. It will be a time when we can arrange everything to be in line with BAM’s vision. We’ll look into partnership, tournament plans and coaches’ reports,” said Kim Her.
The BAM have yet to decide on the future of second ranked Lim Khim Wah-Goh V Shem, who have asked to be split up.
“The unity among coaches is also important and we will discuss at length how we can serve better as a unit. We want to give the best to the players,” said Kim Her.
The singles department, mostly through Lee Chong Wei, has provided more honours and titles for the country over the last two years. It’s time the doubles department chip in as well.
