Garcia to headline Iskandar Johor Open
KUALA LUMPUR: Europe's Ryder Cup hero Sergio Garcia of Spain will lead the field at the Iskandar Johor Open golf tournament in Malaysia this December in the Asian Tour's season-finale.
World number 19 Garcia, who secured a crucial singles victory in Europe's victory over the United States in the recent Ryder Cup, will make his first ever appearance in Malaysia from December 13 to 16.
"I enjoy playing in Asia and have had some good results in that part of the world so I hope I can continue my current form to produce a good performance," said Garcia.
Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee, three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, will also star at the $2 million event, now in its sixth year, which will feature a 120-man field.- AFP
