Pic to drive for Caterham next season
SAO PAULO: Formula One team Caterham says it has signed young French driver Charles Pic on a multi-year deal beginning next season.
Caterham did not specify the length of the contract for Pic, who was with Marussia this year.
The 22-year-old Pic said he is “very excited” about starting his second year in F1 “with a team that has so much potential.” He said he knows “how determined the team is to keep progressing” and is looking forward to playing his part “in helping them move up the grid.”
Caterham is one of the three teams yet to earn a point this season, along with Marussia and HRT.
Caterham team principal Cyril Abiteboul said Pic is “a young driver who has clearly shown he has the pace, racecraft and demeanour” to help the team improve. — AP
