Another nine golfers get their PGM Tour cards
KUALA LUMPUR: Nine more players earned their PGM Tour cards after going through the qualifying school over the last three days.
A total of 43 golfers took part in the Q-school at the Kinrara Golf Club but only nine of them scored 15-over 231 or better.
Two of them are professionals while three others are youngsters.
Johor’s Idzwan Marappan, who joined the tour in 2011, was the best finisher at seven-over 223.
“I have played in four PGM qualifers and made the main draw every time but managed to make only one cut.
‘Now that I don’t have to pre-qualify anymore I must try to do better,” said Idzwan.
Iqbal Yusoff and Atiq Idris, who are in their late teens, said they were happy to earn their PGM playing cards and are ready to join the Tour on a regular basis.
