MAU finally set date for their AGM
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Athletic Union (MAU) have finally set Sept 23 as the date for their annual general meeting (AGM) – after postponing it three times.
The AGM was supposed to be held by June 30 but MAU sought an extension from sports commissioner Datuk Yasin Mohd Salleh as their financial report was not ready.
MAU president Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim is likely to be challenged by the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
Shahidan is seeking a fourth term as president, having been at the helm since 2006.
The next election will also be the first under MAU’s new constitution, where all office bearers will be elected to a three-year term.
