Airil four strokes ahead of Fung
PETALING JAYA: First round co-leader Airil Rizman Zahari carded an impressive four-under 68 to take a four-stroke lead after the second round of the PGM Northport Templer Park Classic at the Templer Park Country Club in Rawang yesterday.
Airil Rizman leads with an eight-under 136 ahead of Nicholas Fung (140), Kemarol Baharin (142), Mohd Iylia Jamil (144), Danny Chia (144),R. Nachimuthu (146) and S. Murthy (147).
The heavy rain, which forced the tee-off to begin at 10.50am, proved to be a blessing for the 34-year-old Airil who had birdies on the third, fifth, sixth, eight, ninth, 12th and 13th holes and bogeys on the second, seventh and 15th.
“I had another good round. After the rain the greens were soft and I was able to judge the pace of my putts,” said the Kuala Lumpur-born golfer.
“I hit a lot of fairways and greens in regulation. I feel good about my game and hope it will stay this way for a long, long time,” said Airil.
