Hafizh proves he’s worthy for Moto2 by clinching Supersports event in Sepang
PETALING JAYA: Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah showed that he is worthy of another shot at the Moto2 race in the Malaysian MotoGP next month by clinching the Supersports event in the Malaysian Super Series (MSS) at the Sepang International Circuit yesterday.
Hafizh, who took a short break from his stint in the CEV Buckler Spanish Championships to race in the MSS, won in 22:46.383.
Ahmad Nashrul Baharuddin (22:47.711) was second ahead of elder brother Ahmad Fuad 22:48.222).
Hafizh, the leader in the Privateer Cup in the Moto2 event in the Spanish championships, got his first taste of the Malaysian MotoGP last year as a wildcard entrant alongside Mohd Zamri Baba.
Hafizh finished 22nd in that race, two rungs lower than Zamri.
“There’s no official word yet but I am ready for the Moto2 challenge again this year,” said Hafizh.
