Prepped riders set to bring glory to Yamaha
PETALING JAYA: Team Hong Leong Yamaha are looking to the remaining rounds in the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship with optimism when the race resumes this weekend in Kluang.
Yamaha’s attempt to defend the CP115 and Wira titles is heading in the right direction after six rounds with Shahril Izzuwan Mohd Noor (Petronas Syntium Moto Yamaha AHM) currently leading the CP115 standings. Mohd Hafiz Nor Azman (Mos Track Pro Yamaha Racing), leads the Wira class.
Meanwhile Yamaha riders attended a team building and motivational camp at the Awana Genting Resort in Genting Highlands last week (Sept 12-13).
“We want our riders to step up their game in the remaining four rounds of the season,” said Voon Yin Kong, the marketing manager of Hong Leong Yamaha Sdn Bhd.
“Based on our observation and feedback received, the riders are talented but they lack the hunger for success. For them, it is more important to just finish the race rather than trying to outdo themselves.”
