1MAS hockey project to hold special course for coaches
KUALA LUMPUR: The 1MAS hockey project will hold a special course for their coaches from Sept 19-25.
Conducted by Dutchman Siegfried Aikman, an FIH Grade 1 coach, the course will be held at centres in Ipoh, Penang, Sungai Petani, Kuantan and Malacca.
1MAS project director Lim Chiow Chuan said the session will update the 46 coaches under the project on the latest innovations in the game.
“The main purpose of bringing Siegfried here is for him to share his vast knowledge and experience with our coaches. He has been involved in development work for a long time in Holland as well as the Japanese national team,” said Chiow Chuan.
“He will share the latest developments in world hockey having attended the recent Olympic Games in London.”
The 1MAS programme is targeted at producing feeder players for the national junior teams.
