Khairul wants to consolidate lead at Hang Jebat Stadium
PETALING JAYA: On-form teenage motorcycling ace Khairul Idham Pawi is cruising closer to the Honda Wave Junior Challenge title.
Khairul is one win away from clinching the crown in Round 8 of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix championship at the Hang Jebat Stadium on Oct 6-7.
“Being a step away from the title at this stage of the championship is something special. I am looking forward to the race,” said Khairul, who has won six of the previous seven rounds,
Khairul has 150 points, 47 more than nearest rival Mohd Akid Aziz (103). Mohd Danial Ibad is third with 96 points.
“It’ll be wise to play it safe in Malacca and maintain the lead, but that is not my strategy,” said Khairul.
“I intend to go all out, just like in the previous rounds. I have showed a strong pace this season and don’t expect an easy race next weekend. Akid and Danial will be breathing down my neck, so I need to be careful, adopt the right strategy and avoid making errors.”
