Pang will settle for a top five finish from his riders
PETALING JAYA: Motul Yamaha YY Pang team manager Pang Yoke You has set a modest target for riders Mohd Azhar Abdul Jalil and Mohd Adib Rosley in the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at the Autopolis International Race Course in Japan this weekend.
Yoke You wants the duo to finish in the top five and he reckons that it will be tough for them to match their Indonesian rivals in the Underbone 115cc class.
“The Indonesian riders are very strong in underbone racing because they have a lot more races, like the Motorprix, Indoprix and Indospeed Race Series and one-make races,” said Yoke You.
“Although the Indonesian riders have to endure a very hectic race calendar each year, it gives their riders a competitive edge because they get more practice.”
Adib is currently placed 11th overall in the Underbone 115cc standings with 22 points while Azhar is 19th with 11 points.
Indonesian Hadi Wijaya (Yamaha Yamalube KYT R9 Tunggal Jaya) leads with 122 points, followed by Norizman Ismail (Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing) with 88 points and Rey Ratukore (Nissin R9 KYT Federal Oil BRT) third on 76 points.
