Chong Wei downs Pengyu to win Korean Open crown
Chong Wei: Defeated Pengyu in 42 minutes KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei gained sweet revenge over China’s Du Pengyu in the US$1mil Korean Open in Seoul on Sunday.
The world number one ranked Malaysian defeated the 24-year-old Chinese ace 21-12, 21-15 in 42 minutes to win the men’s singles title in the championships for his first BWF crown of the year.
The victory in the season-opening BWF tournament avenged the 30-year-old Chong Wei’s defeat at the hands of Pengyu at the BWF’s World Super Series Finals in Shenzhen, China last month.
