Alvin grabs grand double in LTAM Under-14 meet
KUALA LUMPUR: Alvin Teng Wee Jie of Sarawak made it a week to remember by bagging a double in the opening leg of the LTAM SportExcel boys’ Under-14 tennis tournament at the National Tennis Centre in Jalan Duta.
In the junior event that ended on Wednesday, Alvin showed his prowess in both the singles and doubles event.
In the singles, Alvin stayed sharp in his game to beat Azrul Ehsan of Perlis 6-3, 6-3 for his first junior title of the season.
He then teamed up with Stefan Gligorov to fight tooth and nail against Kuala Lumpur’s Wan Mohd Fakhrul-Ryan Lee before prevailing 6-7, 6-4, 11-9 to ensure Sarawak win two out of the eight titles at stake.
