Nazri and Sivachandhran the joint leaders
KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Nazri Mohd Zain and S. Sivachandhran got their campaigns off to a good start by sharing the first round lead in the RM150,000 PGM I&P Kinrara Classic at the Kinrara Golf Club.
Nazri and Siva shot identical four-under 67s for a two-stroke lead yesterday.
Despite the wet conditions due to rain, the leaders played with controlled aggression and attacked only when necessary.
Nazri finished with a bogey-free round while Siva managed six birdies before suffering a double-bogey at the 18th.
“Yes, the course was quite soggy, but I still managed to complete the round without a bogey,” said a delighted Nazri, after the first round.
There was a five-way tie for third place with Azman Basharuddin, Khor Kheng Hwai, Shaaban Hussin, Rusli Johari and Hans Jamil finishing on two-under 69.
