No wedding plans yet, says Wozniacki
KUALA LUMPUR - Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki appeared to pour cold water Monday on speculation she would walk down the aisle soon with her boyfriend, golf's world number one Rory McIlroy.
"I think that question will be for him to answer," the Dane told reporters in Kuala Lumpur, where she is top seed in the BMW Malaysian Open.
"I enjoy everything that's happening right now and how things are. Marriage? We're still young and we have many years in front of us."
Wozniacki, a 22-year-old former tennis world number one, fuelled speculation of wedding plans when she was spotted in December wearing a large ring on her right ring finger.
But she has repeatedly denied she and the 23-year-old Northern Irishman were engaged. Danish women often wear wedding rings on their right hand.
When asked if she would accept now if McIlroy proposed, she burst into laughter, saying: "This is getting personal."
Wozniacki, currently ranked 10th in the world, has 20 WTA titles to her name but none this year.
Despite being ranked number one for two seasons and winning the 2009 US Open, she has yet to add a second Grand Slam and last month put in her worst showing at the Australian Open in three years.
"I don't enjoy losing but when I do, it's simply because the other girl has played better than me," said Wozniacki.
"This is what tennis is all about, and no matter what happens I carry on with full confidence," she said.
Wozniacki will open her campaign in Malaysia against a to-be-determined opponent who will emerge from qualifying which began on Monday. - AFP
