Four Malaysian qualifiers earn spots in Maybank Malaysian Open
KUALA LUMPUR: Four more Malaysian golfers – M. Sasidaran, Kemarol Baharin, Mohd Hanafiah Jamil and P. Gunasegaran – have earned their tickets to the Maybank Malaysian Open, which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club from March 21-24.
The quartet earned their spots by virtue of finishing in the top four of the two-day national qualifiers, which ended at the same golf course yesterday.
They will join the likes of Maybank Golf ambassadors Danny Chia, Shaaban Hussin and Maybank Tour Players Champion Akhmal Tarmizee as part of the local flavour.
The other Malaysian golfers looking to make their mark at the Malaysian Open are the PGAM Order of Merit top four – Nicholas Fung, Sukree Othman, R. Nachimuthu and Airil Rizman – as well as Mohd Rashid Ismail, S. Murthy, S. Sivachandhran, Azman Basharuddin and Kenneth De Silva
“The Maybank Malaysian Open is a great avenue to gain experience. I have good memories of the event ... the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club is a favourite course of mine. It’s important for me to maintain my confidence so that I can give my best,” said Sasidaran.
