SSTMI Juniors book last eight spot with easy win
KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School (SSTMI) Juniors checked into the MHC-Milo-NSC Junior Hockey League quarter-finals with a routine 3-1 win over alread-qualified MBI-Anderson in a Division One match at the Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh.
The sports school have seven points and will wrap up their fixtures against winless MSS Penang-USM in Penang today.
But the biggest surprise was the failure of former five-time double champions Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) to earn a place in the quarter-finals after finishing seventh with just four points from seven matches.
Meanwhile, debutants MSD Kuala Langat have again failed to turn up for their Division Two Group B match.
On Monday, they didn’t show up for the match against KL Sports School. Yesterday, they did the same against Politeknik KPT.
